Day 20 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions

If you have been searching high and low for a bit of workout motivation, look no further. 🏋️‍♂️🏋️‍♀️

According to Dutton & Aron’s research (1974) exercise induces the symptoms of physiological arousal – sweaty hands, a racing pulse, shortness of breath. These symptoms mirror, in many ways, the thrill of romantic attraction. This means that exercising with your significant other can actually boost your attractiveness in their eyes.

If that’s not a valid reason for hitting the gym, I don’t know what is. 😉

Day 19 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions

Go beyond the simple “How was your day?” and have a conversation about things of the heart. <3 <3 Always remember that showing a genuine interest also shows that you support your significant other.

When you care about what they’re dealing with in their life, you’re communicating that you can be counted on in tough times and will always have their back. And don’t we all need that kind of support?

Day 18 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions 💞

Day 18 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions

In every committed relationship (whether you’re dating, engaged or married) there are certain things about your significant other that will annoy you. I’ve learned that some of these pet peeves just aren’t worth the endless hours of arguing.

One thing that irritates the donkeys out of me about my husband is the all too famous empty toilet roll just chilling on the bathroom floor like it’s on some type of beach vacation. Seriously it makes me want to pull out the angry cat and throw it his way again. 🙄🙄

So to gain a little perspective imagine what your life would be like if the said toilet roll weren’t there anymore (in other words, neither would your significant other). When you shift your thinking to what’s really important to you those annoying little pet peeves aren’t that hard to let go. . .

Day 16 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions 💞

This one is short and sweet. Your partner is worth your time, never stop paying attention when they talk to you and stop wandering off in your mind mid-conversation to formulate a response.

First listen to understand, like Richard Branson says: “Listen more than you talk. Nobody learned anything by hearing themselves speak.”

Day 15 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions 💞

Always remember to thank your significant other for all the things that they do for you on a regular everyday basis. 🙌🤗

It can be all too easy to forget or rather neglect to thank your partner for all the ‘mundane’ things that they do. We reckon that he/she probably knows that we appreciate what they do, I say that’s some rather flawed thinking. 💭❌

Make it a part of your relationship to say Thank You more often and make sure your significant other knows that you notice all the little things and express your appreciation for all their hard work. <3

Day 14 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions 💞

Dandelion Date in a Box - 30 Relationship Resolutions 14 - Day 14 of 30Day 14 of 30 Romantic Relationship Resolutions

Yesterday we covered having a meal together at the dining-room table; today let’s look at who’s preparing that meal. 🍽️🍽️

I for one despise cooking, to be honest, I’m terrible at it, really it’s a wonder how many of my meals my husband eats and pretends to like. 🙈🙈 So maybe I’m a bit biased on this resolution, but I believe that cooking together can improve your relationship. It not only helps improve communication and teaches you how to work together as a team, it can also lead to a much more enjoyable meal (my husbands a fantastic cook btw). 😉

So whether you’re like me (a disastrous cook) or you should be signing up to take part in MasterChef, an everyday activity like preparing a meal can be transformed into a fun and exciting one when it’s shared with just the right person. <3

One thing that has decreased over the years is having a meal together. It has become so easy to POP in front of the telly to watch a series/movie while having tea. 🍽️🍽️

In my opinion, it has such an immense negative impact on your relationship, stealing precious time that could have been spent on having a conversation to catch-up with your significant other after a long hard days work. Dinner conversations are also the perfect opportunity to reflect on your lives and relationship. 💬💬

Having dinner together might seem like such a small act, it doesn’t take much from you, however, it can have a significant impact on your relationship. <3

According to research (that has been presented at the Society for Personality and Social Psychology (SPSP) annual conference in Austin) receiving validation from other couples can reignite the passion for your significant other. 🔥🔥

So whether you’re feeling that you’re stuck in a ‘rut’ or if you’d just like to add another dimension of excitement to your relationship hanging out with other couples might be just what you need. 👌

📆 Time to go book a double date…
